Haunted: Ghost Stories and the Use of the Uncanny, with Lynne Barrett

Lynne Barrett is the author of The Secret Names of Women and The Land of Go, and co-editor of Birth: A Literary Companion. Carnegie Mellon will publish her third story collection, Magpies, in 2011. Recent work appears in Night Train, The Southern Women's Review, Saw Palm, Pig in a Poke, Ellery Queen's Mystery Magazine, and the anthology Delta Blues. She lives in Miami, Florida. Flash Fiction with John Dufresne

John Dufresne is the author of the novels Louisiana Power & Light, Love Warps the Mind a Little, Deep in the Shade of Paradise, and, most recently, Requiem, Mass. He has also written the short story collections The Way That Water Enters Stone and Johnny Too Bad, as well as two books on writing: The Lie That Tells a Truth: a Guide to Writing Fiction, and Is Life Like This?: a Guide to Writing Your First Novel in Six Months, which was published by W.W. Norton in February. His full-length play, Trailerville, was produced at the Blue Heron Theatre in New York in 2005, and he wrote the screenplay for the award-winning short film, The Freezer Jesus. He teaches in the MFA program at Florida International University in Miami.
