Common Data Set (CDS)
The Common Data Set (CDS) is a set of commonly requested figures and statistics used by various higher education surveys and institutional rankings such as: The College Board, Peterson's Guides, and the U.S. News & World Report. The CDS provides the following general information about FIU:
- enrollment
- admissions
- persistence and graduation rate statistics
- admissions and transfer policies
- a profile of the latest freshman class
- summaries of academic and student life offerings
- information regarding typical student expenses
- financial aid awarded
- data regarding instructional faculty and class size
- a summary of degrees conferred by FIU
Common data sets are prepared by many other colleges and universities and are frequently available on their institutional web sites. These may be used with FIU’s common data sets for comparative purposes.
