Summer 2009 Course Description: This course includes the arithmetic skills and basic algebra concepts and skills which are needed for success in higher level mathematics courses. Topics include operations with real numbers, percent, geometry, scientific notation, ratio and proportion, exponents, solving linear equations and inequalities in one variable, polynomials, factoring, and percentages.

Exams Exams may include multiple choice, graphing, problems, matching, and fill in the blanks. Make-up exams are given at the discretion of the instructors, and only under extreme circumstances, such as incapacitating illness or death in the family. The student is responsible for providing the necessary written documentation for consideration. There are no make-up exams during the week of finals.
