Advancement
to candidacy is a formal step which occurs after the student has completed
all departmental precandidacy requirements.After the student has completed all departmental precandidacy
requirements, the student's advisor shall recommend approval for
advancement to candidacy.Advancement
to candidacy must then be approved by the department chairperson, the
academic dean and the dean of graduate studies.Final approval for advancement to candidacy is granted by the dean
of graduate studies.
