• Designing and carrying out dissertation research (in the field and in the laboratory) on salinity tolerance and water relations of the giant horsetail, Equisetum giganteum.

 

Statistics Research

• Conducted extensive simulation study of statistical performance of ranked set sampling (RSS) estimators using a USDA database.
 

Economic Botany Research

• Designed and carried out experiments to investigate the effects of time and temperature on  nutrient release from controlled-release fertilizers

• participated in study of crop-weed ecology of no-till vegetable production systems using re-seeding annual cover crops and mulches to reduce herbicide use
 

Animal Behavior Research

• Performed experiments on mating behavior in the dimorphic jumping spider Maevia  inclemens
• Performed experiments on the male-male interactions of Anolis lizards
• Designed and carried out an independent research project to determine the crucial elements in the tufted male M. inclemens’ courtship display that trigger female receptivity
• Maintained research animals and set up a simulated tropical environment for Anolis lizard behavioral study
