I understand that
-
The
course grading system consists of three exams, of which only the two best
scores will count towards my final grade.
-
Each
exam will carry 25 % points towards my final grade.
-
There
will be no make up exams. If I miss an exam, I will have to attend the
remaining two exams.
-
Exams
start 15 minutes after class time begins. I must be in position to take the
exam within those 15 minutes. I must arrive early during the exam periods.
If I am more than 15 minutes late, I will be barred from entering and
disrupting others taking the exam. I will not receive any % points for the
missed exam.
-
There
are two projects to be completed by the due date. Each project will carry 15
% points towards the final grade. Any project not handed in by the due date
will receive only 10% of the grade. Not submitting a project will carry an
incomplete till the project is handed in.
-
Class
and Home Assignments will carry 10 % points towards the final grade.
-
There
will also be a 10 % points towards class participation.

As
this is an IT course, I must have constant access to a laptop/PC during this
semester. Not having a computer is not a valid reason for not being able to
complete assignments, projects or other work requested.
-
I
must check my emails on a daily basis. Going on holiday, going on a business
trip are not valid reasons for not keeping in touch.
-
I
must check the Professor’s web site on a daily basis.
-
If
I need to communicate with the Professor, I will communicate by email, as
per the instructions on the web site.
-
The
rules that are set up by the University and the Department will be followed
throughout the semester. No exceptions will be made on an individual basis.
If an exception is made for me, it will have to be made public to the class
and valid for all students.
-
If
I miss more than 20% of class time, I will receive an incomplete and will
have to attend the same class, the next possible semester in order to
complete the hours missed.
-
If
I am more than 10 minutes late for class or any part of class, I will have
to rejoin the class at the next break. I will not disrupt the class or the
Professor. I will be barred from entering.
-
I
will have the opportunity to see the Professor on a 1-2-1 basis immediately
after midterm to discuss my progress in class. I need to make an appointment
during office hours or even request an appointment outside normal office
hours.
-
I
will take every opportunity given to me during the course of the semester
through the Professor’s resources and the Universities resources, to
complete the task at hand. Should for any reason, I have a suggestion or
complaint; I will first email the Professor.
