Program Information

ENLACE - Engaging Latino Communities for Education
A collaborative community-wide partnership for education and led by Florida International University’s Center for Diversity in Engineering and sponsored by The Children’s Trust. The ENLACE Miami initiatives provides Miami-Dade County Public School K-12 students the opportunity to participate in an after school program at selected school sites and a summer enrichment program at Florida International University.

FGLSAMP - Florida-Georgia Louis Stokes' Alliance for Minority Participation

a National Science Foundation funded program in association with lead institution, Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University. This program focuses on engineering, math, chemistry, biology, physics, and computer science undergraduate students in its mission to increase the number of under-represented minorities receiving baccalaureate degrees in engineering-related disciplines. Participants receive scholarships based on GPA and full-time student status.

FLAME - Florida Action for Minorites in Engineering

GEAR UP - Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs

a federally funded collaborative program committed to enhancing the academic, personal, and emotional development of students and their families living in the Homestead Empowerment Zone area. The principal objective is to provide participants with the essential skills in mathematics, language arts, and reading required for post-secondary education and subsequent professional careers.

JETS - Junior Engineering Technical Society

As a local chapter, benefits include access to superior program materials (educational packages, self-assessments, real-world problem-solving scenarios, team-oriented learning and competitions). The program, made up of several components, is designed to increase the technical skills necessary to achieve in basic engineering skills: applied mathematics, science and reasoning. Funding and guidance provided by the national JETS organization and the US Army.
