| Dear Professional,
We have placed a survey on line for Miami based architects who are familiar with the Department of Architecture at FIU. I am asking you to take 15 minutes of your valuable time to complete the survey. The survey can be found at http://w3.fiu.edu/irdata/Surveys/Architecture_Professional_2006/Content/Architecture_Professional_06.asp
Your participation will allow us to gather data on perceptions of our program, perceptions of how we are changing and whether you see improvement in the quality of our program and our graduates. We consider the estimations and opinions of professionals like yourself an essential part of our benchmarking procedures and an important aspect of ensuring that the architecture program's growth and development is guided by all stakeholders, including the professional community that hires and employs our graduates.
An equally important reason for gathering data is our upcoming re-accreditation of the professional graduate program in architecture. Re-accreditation occurs every six years, and I would like to think that our program has seen dramatic change over the past six years. Statistics about and comments from alumni, professionals and students are critical to the evaluative process. We want to evaluate the effectiveness of our curriculum in relation to today's professional environment in order to make any necessary changes to better prepare our students.
Another objective of our ongoing effort in maintaining contact with professionals who are familiar with our program and to annually update our information relative to your activities, successes, employment, and community involvement.
Please take 15 minutes of your time to complete the online survey. Your opinions and comments are greatly valued and appreciated.
Truly Yours,
Adam Drisin, Chair
