Flash Fiction with John Dufresne

Do you write flash fiction? Do you want to learn about flash fiction? Led by John Dufresne, this workshop will explore the form in-depth. The workshop will be beneficial for those first experimenting with the form and for those looking to hone their skills.

When: November 13th, 2010, 9 a.m. to Noon
Where: FIU, BBC campus, room AC2-110.

John Dufresne is the author of the novels Louisiana Power & Light, Love Warps the Mind a Little, Deep in the Shade of Paradise, and, most recently, Requiem, Mass. He has also written the short story collections The Way That Water Enters Stone and Johnny Too Bad, as well as two books on writing: The Lie That Tells a Truth: a Guide to Writing Fiction, and Is Life Like This?: a Guide to Writing Your First Novel in Six Months, which was published by W.W. Norton in February, 2010. His full-length play, Trailerville, was produced at the Blue Heron Theatre in New York in 2005, and he wrote the screenplay for the award-winning short film, The Freezer Jesus. He teaches in the MFA program at Florida International University in Miami.
